Brian DePalma's 1987 drama The Untouchables (8 p.m., Ch. 44) stars Kevin Costner as legendary fed Eliot Ness and Robert eNiro as his arch-foe Al Capone.

Nick at Nite's week-long "Taxi" Marathon (8 p.m., Nickelodeon) continues as the cable's Classic TV channel welcomes the long-running sitcom to its nightly rotation. Nineteen episodes air in a row tonight and early tomorrow.

Judd Hirsch, Marilu Henner, Tony Danza, Danny De Vito, Carol Kane and the immortal Andy Kaufman star.

The new TV movie A Burning Passion: The Margaret Mitchell Story(9 p.m., Ch. 4) stars former "90210" bad girl Shannen Doherty as the creator of the quintessential romance-novel bad girl, Scarlett O'Hara. Doherty gives a lively and surprisingly effective performance as independent Atlanta belle Mitchell; Dale Midkiff, best remembered as Elvis in that trashy ""Elvis and Me'' miniseries, plays her first husband, Red Upshaw, the inspiration for Rhett Butler.

The new documentary series The Windsors: A Royal Family (9 p.m., Ch. 9) is a two-part survey of Britain's ruling clan from 1917 to the present. More
